Our Bodies Move aka FOR THOSE WHO WAIT” (c) 12/1987
Lyrics Michael Kennedy
Music by Ric Ahlers
So many people look for love and affection
Think they’re heading in the right direction.
They go searching through the heat of the night
Alone again in the morning light.
I’ve seen a lot of selfish devotion
Hopelessly lost in mixed up emotion.
Opening; then closing every door
Never know what they’re looking for.
CHORUS: I’ve never felt a woman feel this good before.
I’ve never listened to her whispers
Or knock upon the door.
Nothing to hide, nothing to prove,
Its love that makes our bodies move.
In the beginning there were many pretenders
Holding on ‘til everyone surrenders.
Strangling the love they create.
Love is For Those Who Wait.
CHORUS: I’ve never felt a man feel this good before.
I’ve never listened to his whispers
Or knock upon the door.
Nothing to hide, nothing to prove,
Its love that makes our bodies move.
Dam nice words my friend

I am glad you appreciate them. They seem to reflect a lot of relationships I see out there. But when you find the right person….. there is nothing like it!

Exactly my friend a true relationship, is a lot like words, like poetry in motion,
if it dosn’t flow
It’s got no where to go

Very good! Great observation. To quote a friend of mine, “Simply beautiful – or is it beautifully simple?”. I understand what you mean, and thank you for the comment.

Thank you very much. I am proud of them and unfortunately, most people can relate to those “bad relationships”!

Love that chord change at ‘they go searching’, total ear candy!

Great observation. I think that is why I thought the music would fit the lyrics. The music uses chords you don’t usually hear in country tunes but they are so smooth most people don’t notice. Good catch!

I have a saying….. If you think paradise is a place, you will never find it. Most people have no idea what “it” is. And it is usually right in front of them. You are my kind of people, Dan.

[…] Yesterday I heard that I lost another great friend and musical partner. My sister called me last night to tell me there had been an accident and she did not have a lot of details, but a great friend of mine died yesterday. I mentioned Ric Ahlers in my blog posts before. He was the guitar player/vocalist in the first real band I was in called The Personal Touch. He co-authored with me one of my favorite songs I called “For Those Who Wait“. (With music it was titled: “Our Bodies Move“). […]
