Although I did not take this picture, it is one my wife took that I think you will enjoy. If you have not had this perspective it is hard to fully appreciate the feeling of being above the clouds – while your feet are still on the ground! If you have been able to see this for yourself, you probably want to have that feeling and view back again and again.
We were on vacation in Maui, HI. There were so many beautiful and awesome areas I must have taken hundreds of pictures and my wife took many more. As we gawked at the beauty in front of us, invariably we would turn around and see something just as spectacular. That became the theme of our vacation; if you see something beautiful……. TURN AROUND!
Intoxicating view. I imagine it fills you with wonder and at the same puts your heart in your throat; that height.

It is, isn’t it! That is the way I felt just looking out over the clouds. And I mean OVER LOL!

Ha! A picture is worth a thousand words but still a few thousand short in this case!

Just off a vacation where that was the case – just when I thought the view in front of me was most awesome, I’d turn around and be stunned by yet another :-).

I admire the “photos” people take, especially where I’ve never been, or seen before. This is really high up in the hills!

I agree. Some places are fascinating and other people’s pictures can have amazing perspectives. I couldn’t agree more. It was very near the observatory on Maui atop Mt. Haleakalā.

That is an amazing picture! I’ve only been above the clouds when flying, but I think there’s something just as beautiful about it. And HI is definitely on my Places To Go list. I think there’s a lot of beauty in this world. Sometimes we don’t have to search for it at all. Other times it’s right behind us and all we have to do is turn around. Well said. If you ever decided to post more pictures from your trip, I would not be disappointed (*hint…hint*). I love looking at other people’s photos from places I’ve never been. Actually I just like looking at photos. Anyway, happy Tuesday! And I hope you have a good day!

Thank you a lot. I have taken pictures out airplane windows and the clouds are so amazing close up as well. It feels odd to have your feet on solid ground and look above the clouds……
I will be glad to post more pictures. I thought everyone has their own collection now-a-days so I have not posted many, but I would love to share them. Have a great evening-morning and thank you again.

Even the same picture taken by two different people is different. It all comes down to perspective. And everyone has a different perspective. Have a great weekend and thank you for the great blog.

Indeed. My wife and I can take pictures from the same place, with the same view and even the same camera and I can tell which one is hers or mine. Not better – different. You are so cool. We had great weather this weekend and I was out as much as possible! Thank you for the compliment on the blog. Smiling; thanks!

Cool! It can be difficult for me coming back from vacations, that’s for sure. It helps me recharge!

Wonderful picture! I hike the white mountains of New Hampshire a lot and have found some places there that I can only describe as “other worldly”. I illustrated one of my poems with pictures of Mount Madison. I love those views, just wish the hike wasn’t all UPHILL!! 🙂 I’m getting too old for all that work! hugs to you. Michelle 🙂

Great, thank you! That sounds delightful. I do understand the otherworldly part. It is hard to believe some places exist. Keep doing it though…. it makes us who we are. Not young, but so alive. Thank you, I am honored.

Beautiful picture! I agree with tracihalpin; we really have to be better at enjoying the beauty of nature around us.
My military service in The Band and Drill Team of His Majesty The King’s Guard of Norway is now over, but one of my best memories is when we went hiking a beautiful mountain in the north of Norway (dressed up in our parade uniforms), and then had a concert on top of it, surrounded by the beautiful nature around us. It was really moving.

Thank you! I hope we all get a chance to enjoy it before we lose more of it. Traveling is renewal for me. That is a great experience and I can see how it left an impression on you. Early peoples seeing the beauty (and danger) around them must surely have felt inspired to explore music. Nature is the best theater on earth!

You are very welcome. The view is so breathtaking, even though I wouldn’t advise it, it almost feels like one could leap onto the clouds. This world we live in has so much beauty sometimes it’s hard to take it all in.

It took a lot of internal discussions in my brain to stop me! I am so fascinated by the beauty all around us. I just hope others take the time to understand that like you do.
