Lack Of Concern ©
You look from behind me, Baby
At what I’m going toward.
Seeing what you want to see
And then you look no more.
Tease me with the truth baby
Don’t tempt me with a lie,
So if you want to play games
I’ll just walk on by.
It’ a lack of concern
Or a lack of control
Is it in the heart,
Or deep within the soul?
You’re not making love with me
You’re just wasting time
Always taking theirs, aren’t you
But I won’t give you mine.
My tears are in your hands
My heart is open wide
But everytime I look, I see
There’s nothing left inside.
Tease me with the truth, Baby
Don’t tempt me with a lie,
So if you want to play games
I’ll just wave bye-bye.
Great lyrics!! don’t have speakers here at work so will have to wait till I get home to listen. I hate game playing too… I am way to old for that crap. The man I just finished with was a major player, I didn’t know it fully until now, such a sorry and sad state of affairs…. love your music.. 🙂 Michelle

That is cool of you to say. Thank you. Hopefully reading the lyrics first will help set up most of my songs before you listen. I have always been too old for that crap, but as I am older I have a much shorter fuse than before. The problem with ‘performers’ is they often believe what they tell themselves. Hard to ‘see the lies’ when the player does not either. Don’t blame yourself, we might not want to admit it but many of us understand all too well. I appreciate your comments and that is very generous. You have no idea how much that means. Michael

Thank you Michael… you are so kind and wise 🙂 Just listened to your song, your music is so very good! loved it 🙂 yup, sometimes we can’t see the forest for the trees. But I’m not going to let it bother me too much that I was fooled…I would rather be a person who is positive and gets taken by a disreputable dog on occasion than be a negative person and suspect everyone… but this betrayal will take a long time to get over.. he was very special to me and I had been alone for 7 years before I met him… oh well, so much about that. I am glad you are my friend 🙂

Pretty tune. I like the use of the background vocal accents.

Thanks! It is an old recording but I think it captured the song well. Also good to hear that our efforts in the vocal area were worth the time.

I appreciate the feedback. You are quite welcome and I also appreciate the visit! WE may have many names…… and numerous paths and a story with each. A rose is a rose. “And by any other name…..’!

Ohhh, what a sweet thing to say, Mike, thank you! My photographer is out of commission at the moment, sporting a pirate patch due to Bell’s Palsy…but when he heals up, we’ll see what happens 🙂

Thank you and you make a good point. Powerful words do not need to hit you in the face. My guess is – the most powerful words do not. They slowly sink in and take over!

Really like the ”lack of concern” chorusy part. Reminds me of Roxy Music somehow. Really strong lyrics!
