The time is all right,
The music’s all right
But that’s not the way you feel.
You think it’s so sad,
You drove yourself mad.
Don’t forget, you made a deal.
What happened that day, made you run away
‘Til your world seemed so unreal.
All of your friends said, you were living dead,
It takes time for wounds to heal.
You stopped and looked around,
What you need could be found.
Don’t need a lucky break, to handle what we make,
We can make it as two.
Your mamma’s all right,
Your daddy’s all right.
They both love you the way you are.
Yes snowflakes can fall,
And not land at all.
Life is not quite so bizarre.
What happened that day, made you run away
‘Til your world seemed so unreal.
All of your friends said, you were living dead,
It takes time for wounds to heal.
You stopped and looked around,
What you need could be found.
Don’t need a lucky break, to handle what we make,
We can make it as two.
This song is on my new album Before The Chase available now on itunes!
Hey! It’s Cat Stevens!

Or that should be Ian Anderson – you just need some tubes, man!

Wow Mike! Congratulations on some great music, love this song. Reminds me a little of the acoustic versions of the Who. Peace!

Cool, cool! Thank you for the great comments. Pete Townsend can do (almost) no wrong in my musical book so that is a great comparison.

Nice lyrics! A bit haunting but a positive overall message.

Thank you! I seem to do that balance often in lyrics from that time period. I knew so many friends that had a difficult time seeing the positive and encouraging parts of life that were right in front of them. Sometimes single events over shadowed everything else. But when you look around, often there is so much to be thankful for.

For the longest time I only had The Studio Way’s copy of the segue between Miracles In Your Hand, and I grew to love this song.

The key of each song and the instrumental ending of Miracles just lent itself to combining the songs. But it was an endurance test playing the medley on the 12 string guitar LOL!

Great song, great lyrics. Both the music and the singing reming me of Jethro Tull, at least of their more acoustic tunes. I like the message of the lyrics. No matter what’s going wrong, let’s make it right. Keep up the brilliant work!
The cover of your CD seems to suggest some calm before the storm. I really like its simplicity (and I mean that as a compliment)

Great to hear. This is one of my favorites (OK, I have a lot of favorites!). I appreciate the Tull reference. Their early CD’s are always in my car for long travels; Benefit and Stand Up, I think are the names, but I love that style. Will do. I am still writing and will have more favorites in no time, LOL.
Great observation on the cover picture. Dead on! Thank you!

Hey Hey! Good to hear. I am glad you like this one. Thank you and I hope you like the others songs as well. All in the same style. It has been a lot of fun putting these old songs out there!

Great sound! I like the way you have left the lyrics somewhat general. That way your listeners wonder and think about it more, and can bring some of thier own meaning to the song.

Thank you so much! I think it is better to leave a bit open for interpretation! If I am too specific, people will think the lyrics do not apply to them. Better as you say to let their creative side free to apply to their own experiences. Great observation and I appreciate the comments!

Some sage of old said One is the loneliest number you can do. And the next is Two.
I think your lyrics go a bit deeper.
