What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?
I was raised as a Catholic and studied to become a priest. I thought that that was the perfect path through life. Unfortunately my life experiences proved to me that there is no God. And men have turned your faith against us all.
Priests and politicians have used established religions to hijack your beliefs and turn them into profit making machines designed to suppress anyone who is not of that particular faith.
Same here, brother.

There are more of us than they want us to know! Thanks again for your visit.

I, too, suspect that most non-believers are still in the closet. Thanks for coming out, Mike. Doing so is in itself a major contribution to world peace and justice.

You are wonderful! I try not to throw politics and religion on my blog but there are times when it is necessary.

Unfortunately, yes, there are far too many that have ‘walked away’ … yet there is one extremely distinct portion of this that MUST be stated: By your own admission, you studied under their pretences, their teaching about God. And, as such, your conclusion – there is no God – is correct, but I would respectfully insert a ‘their’, there is no ‘their god. The god that they had tried to teach you about is not the True God. I would humbly implore you to seek out Scripture, specifically the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. In Him you will find the True God. Trust that! And know there is, indeed, a God Who truly loves you!

Agreed that I reject the existence of THEIR God… the God of Abraham… the very same God that is YOUR God.

I’m so very, very sorry to hear that. I reached out to simply say I understand … and that I’ve had a similar (but certainly very different) story . Unfortunately abusive teaching is in ALL organizations- even the Church. Please take care ✌️

Unfortunately, you are missing the point. Most established religions say that their God is the one true God. Everyone says that their beliefs are the correct beliefs.
Debating which established religion is correct is the wrong conversation. They are all wrong. You don’t have to worry, I will not go to your blog and try to convert you because that is too easy.

As a child, the first thing the parents and the teachers do is extinguish in you the interrogative instinct in what they tell or give to read. We are brainwashed to follow them to church or synagogue or temple and repeat what they do.
The moment you believe in something, you have stopped enquiring. BELIEF is one of the most poisonous things to destroy human intelligence.

Unfortunately, the very definition of faith is to not require proof. This can be applied to anything……
I am right because I believe I am right……..
You are the devil because you don’t believe the way I do……
Because you are the devil I don’t have to treat you like a human being…….
To make matters worse as I mentioned, too many people make money and hold on to power by wielding other people’s faith like a sword.
Beliefs, on the other hand, can be positive and beneficial tools for all humanity. Thank you so much for your comments!

Very true. Actually every one is an atheist for the other religions. Many wars on earth are fought in the name of religion. No atheist walks into an establishment and engages in mass killing.

Good point. And as comedian Jim Jeffrey says, no atheist goes in and says I’m going to chop your head off in the name of, nobody? Lol. Exactly thank you.

As a Nigerian atheist, this resonates with me, especially since being atheist in my country is illegal in several states

I appreciate your time and your comments. It is unfortunate how many lives have been affected by something intended to be so good. Pendulums keep swinging, hopefully it will swing in your direction soon.
Your posts are important for people to read, not just for you to write! Keep it up.
