What was your favorite subject in school?

Unfortunately for me, I changed schools often. So that depended on how good the teacher was in that particular subject.

I would agree with “how good the teacher was” because I remember loving History and Anthropology alongside Literature, Science and Math Algebra while disliking Geometry, Statistics and Physics. I think that how they were presented based on my learning style made me love one subject more than others in every period of time. 🙂

Sometimes in school we are taught the subject, but not necessarily how to apply that information. It’s not until we get out in the real world that we have to figure that out! Thanks.

I loved Math, but wasn’t good at it. English and writing held my attention all four years. Even wanted to be a journalist at one point in high school put peer pressure got to me so I didn’t join the journalism team. I had this one particular teacher, Mrs. Farr, in my senior year. But in my junior year, I had a teacher who also gave me A’s on my papers. I took one to her and she took a red sword to it. She asked me to bring her all my papers for the next 2 months. Every A she’d mark down to a D or C then tell me what I needed to do to improve. My writing improved over the year and my teacher would ask, “how does your writing keep getting better?” I dared tell him that another teacher was helping me. (sorry for being long winded – a writers problem). LOL!

That was a great story and I appreciate you sharing your experience. That is pretty funny and I am sure that there are a number of teachers who would be disheartened to find out that their lessons are being supplemented! Thank you for your time and for your comments. Continue writing!

Ironically, despite my guise as the AI English teacher and having spent 25 years teaching English, it wasn’t necessarily my favourite subject. At secondary it would have been the sciences – specifically Chemistry – and at college it was probably Theatre Studies.

It’s too bad that you missed the ability to teach a subject that you have a passion for. I am sure your students would have appreciated it as well. My guess is you’re pretty good at English too! Lol. Thank you for your comments, I appreciate your time.

That’s good to hear. I replied to a comment earlier about a friend of mine who did just that! I thought he was never going to graduate! But I don’t think he had the financial means to do it either lol. I am glad you enjoyed the teachers and the classroom experience that you had. Thanks!

Though I’ve been out of school for some time, my enduring admiration lies with psychology. This subject has been instrumental in my personal growth, allowing me to delve into self-discovery and gain a profound understanding of those around me. Beyond its personal impact, I find practical application for psychology in my ongoing research, particularly in exploring consumer behavior.
