Given an odd set of circumstances that would give you the choice of listening to your favorite songs and bands on a really weak radio signal (cheap, broken or terrible stereo system) or listen to songs you don’t really like in hi quality sound?
Being an audiophile and passionate about great music this is a tough question for me lol.
I’d rather listen to something I actually like, in lowfi. My own music system is basically a portable CD player jacked into a giant BUSH Retro Classic speaker. You’d be surprised how that works… in fact I even record my Pocket Sax adventures with it… on a dictaphone. Once a Luddite, always a Luddite. Until they hang you of course. Lol.

I couldn’t agree more. I think of being stuck on an island. It would be torture to listen to commercial songs on a great system and not be able to listen to my rather eclectic list! I would actually enjoy the opportunity to listen to my favorite songs even if it is a less than ideal system.
Thanks for your comments and a great sense of humor. So far I have managed to run faster than the mob!

Some songs I actually like better in lo-fi. Like the songs of 1960s AM radio when you thought you were doing great because your pocket radio had 4 transistors.

Good point. Like certain smells that can take you back to a particular point in the past. I agree listening to music sometimes requires the original environment to recapture memories.
